The Lake Villa FD was called to the scene of a large log cabin style house fire in Lake Villa Twp, which does not have any fire hydrants. Arriving units found the home fully involved and pulled a MABAS box to the second alarm which brought Tankers and manpower to the scene. Due to the log cabin construction, extinguishing the fire inside the roof was difficult. A 10 year old boy was trapped inside his bedroom but was rescued by his dad through a window. Departments that responded were Round Lake, Fox Lake, Antioch, Gurnee, Grayslake, Libertyville, Newport FPD and McHenry.
