The Round Lake Fire Protection District responded to a late morning report of a house fire in Round Lake Beach. The first arriving crews reported smoke coming from the eves of the home. The attack crew found the fire was coming from the basement which turned out to be a crawl space. The house was being remodeled and the stairs had been removed but luckily the attack crew noticed this before trying to enter the lower level of the home. The Grayslake FD assisted at the scene with an Engine Company.
